Subsurface Instruments is the ONLY manufacturer in the locating industry to produce All Materials Locators (AMLs). Unlike metal detectors and magnetic locators, AMLs can locate non-metallic materials such as PVC and polyethylene pipelines while still retaining the ability to locate metallic materials such as steel pipelines or iron culverts. This makes an AML the perfect tool for all-around locating jobs and inspectors will be able to easily switch targets without having to change (or purchase) new equipment for different target materials.

The All Materials Locators we carry are produced by Subsurface Instruments who own the patent on this technology. Their AML series devices operate by projecting ultra-high radio frequencies into the ground or other surfaces which can be used detect changes in density. This allows the operator to locate virtually any object with an edge in soil, concrete, asphalt, and even water.
