The Aqua Trac is a computerized microphone listening device. Through its sensitive ground microphone, leak noises can be heard directly through a pipeline as well as on the ground surface. The louder the noise, the closer you are to the leak. The noise level is displayed on the screen numerically and can be graphed to help you to locate leaks fast and with confidence.

Filter out unwanted noise with the Aqua Trac

Are your leak locations in areas with high background noise? The Aqua Trac amplifier design includes three pre-set frequency filters and an unlimited number of adjustable frequency filters.  This allows the operator to screen out the hum from traffic, transformers, power lines, and other background noises. The headphones are equipped with noise isolating features that allow the user to block outside noises and to concentrate on the job at hand.

Operators can use the contact rod or magnet attachments on the microphone to listen for system water leaks at hydrants, meters, valves, or anywhere the pipeline can be contacted directly. The louder the sound of the leak, the closer you are to the break.

Then pinpoint individual leaks.

Once the section of line with the leak has been identified, the contact rods can be removed from the ground microphone. The operator can then work down the identified length of the pipeline listening for the leak directly through the ground surface. The microphone has been optimized for listening through pavement and concrete slabs, but it can also be used on grass or dirt by inserting the contact rod into the ground above the buried line. As with the leak survey, the louder the sound of the leak, the closer you are to the break in the line. The meter on the amplifier allows for direct measurement of loudness.

You work hard. Your equipment needs to be just as tough. The AquaTrac leak detector is shock protected and waterproof certified to an Ingress Protection Level IP68. This means that the unit is dust proof AND waterproof in water deeper than 3 feet for up to 30 minutes.

The rechargeable Li-Ion internal battery allows up to 20 hours of continuous use which means you can keep working all day without stopping to recharge or replace the battery.
