Are you looking for an easy-to-use magnetic locator with an intuitive design? Look no further than the Maghorn locator by Pipehorn. Magnetic locators are designed to detect ferrous objects such as property pins, curb boxes, manholes, and valve covers that are buried underground.

The Maghorn is extremely effective at locating small or deeply buried ferrous objects while passing over unwanted interfering objects such as aluminum cans, pull tabs, and copper wire.

Easy to learn, easy to use

To use the locator, cut the device on and control the volume with the on/off knob located on the side of the handle. Adjust the sensitivity using the sensitivity knob. The sensitivity can be lowered to allow for operation around other metallic objects such as fences and cars.

Sweep the magnetic locator in a wide arc in front of you while keeping the tip close to the ground surface. The tone from the speaker will change pitch when a change in magnetic field is detected. For best results, use the lowest sensitivity setting appropriate for the job.

Go Deeper

Depending on the size and shape of the target, the Maghorn can locate up to 15 feet underground. Although not designed as a pipe locator, the Maghorn can locate cast iron pipes and bell joints. Use the diagram below to find projected reading depths for the Maghorn on common objects.

The Maghorn magnetic locator only reads magnetic items which means no more wasted time digging up aluminum cans, pull-tabs, copper wire, or other non-magnetic targets.
