The Pipehorn 800-H: for quick and easy utility location
Are you looking for a simple to use locator for buried pipelines and cables? The Pipehorn 800-H easily locates utilities such as metal pipelines, cables, tracer wires, and traceable fiberoptics. The 800-H can even be used for non-conducting pipelines if a sewer snake or trace ribbon is inserted into the line first.
The unit can function conductively when known lines are partially exposed, or inductively when scanning for unknown or unmarked utilities. The transmitter pushes a 480 kHz frequency into the line being located. The receiver wand reads the signal that has been transmitted along the line, tuning in to the specific 480 kHz frequency. This enables the operator to trace the buried pipeline or cable and to mark it along the way. The unit has both audible and visual responses for buried lines so you can be sure of your readings.
